Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how AnatomyVerse (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the AnatomyVerse application (the “App”).
1. Summary
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers in the App.
- Most study data stays on your device unless you enable Premium iCloud sync.
- AI Tutor questions are sent to a language-model provider to generate answers.
- Purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details.
2. Information we process
2.1 On your device
The App stores preferences and local study data using on-device storage (for example UserDefaults and local files), including:
- language and display preferences;
- decks, custom catalogs, and related study materials you create;
- practice session history;
- tutor chat history kept in the App;
- local usage counters for free-tier limits.
2.2 Purchases and entitlements
Subscription and purchase status are handled by Apple StoreKit. We receive entitlement signals needed to unlock Premium features. Billing identity and payment data are controlled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
2.3 Optional iCloud sync (Premium)
If you are Premium and turn on iCloud Sync, selected user libraries may sync through your personal iCloud (CloudKit private database), such as decks, catalogs, practice history, and tutor sessions. This sync uses your Apple ID iCloud account. We do not operate a separate AnatomyVerse user account server for this sync. You can turn sync off in Settings. Anatomical USDZ model packs are not uploaded as part of this sync.
2.4 AI Tutor
When you use AI Tutor, the App sends your prompt and relevant anatomy context (for example selected structure names and hierarchy cues) to a third-party provider (currently OpenAI) to generate a response. Do not include sensitive personal or health information in prompts. The provider processes that content under its own terms and privacy policy. Free and Premium tiers may use different models and limits.
2.5 Diagnostics
The App may use standard OS facilities. We do not currently operate a separate analytics or advertising SDK for cross-app tracking. PrivacyInfo declares no tracking.
3. What we do not collect by default
We do not require you to create an AnatomyVerse account with email/password. We do not ask for your name, postal address, or precise location to use the core atlas. We do not use the App for third-party ad targeting.
4. How we use information
We process information to:
- provide atlas, practice, decks, catalogs, and tutor features;
- enforce free-tier limits and Premium entitlements;
- sync your libraries across your devices when you enable iCloud Sync;
- improve reliability and fix bugs;
- comply with law and App Store requirements.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the App you requested), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product integrity), and consent where required (for example optional features you explicitly enable).
6. Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate the App:
- Apple — purchases, entitlements, and (if enabled) iCloud/CloudKit sync on your account;
- OpenAI — AI Tutor prompts and related anatomy context you submit;
- authorities — if required by law.
We do not sell personal information.
7. Retention
Local data remains until you delete it or remove the App. iCloud-synced data follows your iCloud retention and deletion behavior when sync is enabled. AI provider retention is governed by that provider’s policies. StoreKit transaction records are retained by Apple as applicable.
8. Security
We use platform security features (sandboxing, transport security for network calls, CloudKit private database for optional sync). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for general educational use and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Do not provide personal information of children through AI prompts. If you believe we have received such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International transfers
AI processing and Apple services may occur on servers in other countries (including the United States). Where required, appropriate safeguards apply under applicable law and the providers’ terms.
11. Your choices
- Disable AI Tutor by not using the feature.
- Turn off iCloud Sync in Settings (Premium).
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
- Delete local data by removing App data / uninstalling the App; manage iCloud data via Apple’s iCloud settings where applicable.
- Request privacy questions at privacy@anatomyverse.app.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Open anatomical data sources (Z-Anatomy, BodyParts3D, and others) are credited in Settings → About and are not a personal-data processor for your study content.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes may also be highlighted in the App or on our website when available.
