Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the AnatomyVerse mobile and desktop application and related services (the “App”) provided by the AnatomyVerse developer (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. Educational purpose only
AnatomyVerse is an educational anatomy atlas and study tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not rely on the App for clinical decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical questions.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you use the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. License to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for your own educational and non-commercial study purposes, subject to these Terms and applicable App Store / platform rules.
You may not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law;
- circumvent usage limits, entitlements, or security features;
- use the App to infringe others’ rights or violate law;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App itself as a competing product.
4. Anatomical models and open licenses
Anatomical 3D models and related educational assets in the App originate from open-licensed projects (including Z-Anatomy and BodyParts3D) and are provided under Creative Commons and similar licenses, primarily CC-BY-SA. Attribution is shown in Settings → About.
Those licenses remain binding. In particular, for CC-BY-SA materials you must respect attribution and ShareAlike obligations if you create and redistribute derivatives. The App does not place DRM on open anatomical models; export / share-source options are provided where applicable. Certain CC-BY-NC assets are excluded from commercial builds.
5. Accounts, purchases, and subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store / StoreKit). Pricing, free trials, billing periods, renewals, taxes, and refunds are governed by Apple’s terms and your Apple ID settings.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restoring purchases uses Apple’s restore flow.
Free and Premium features may change over time. Free tiers may include fair-use limits (for example daily AI Tutor or Practice quotas and a limit on custom catalogs). Premium unlocks higher limits and optional iCloud sync as described in the App.
6. AI Tutor
The AI Tutor feature sends your questions and relevant anatomy context (such as structure names and hierarchy) to a third-party language-model provider (currently OpenAI) to generate answers. Responses may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not treat AI output as medical advice. You are responsible for the content of prompts you submit. Do not submit sensitive personal health information.
7. User content
Decks, custom catalogs, practice history, tutor chat history, and similar materials you create (“User Content”) remain yours. You grant us a limited license to process User Content solely to operate the App features you enable (including optional iCloud sync on your devices when Premium sync is turned on).
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, overload services, attempt unauthorized access, or use the App in a way that harms other users or third parties.
9. Intellectual property
The App’s software, branding, UI design, and original non-open materials are owned by us or our licensors. Open-licensed anatomical assets remain under their respective licenses. All trademarks are the property of their owners.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anatomical or AI content is complete or current.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by nature should survive (including licenses to open content you already exported, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, except where local law requires additional consent.

15. Apple-specific terms (iOS / macOS)
You acknowledge that Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation; any claims relating to the App are between you and us, not Apple. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
